About Novamarine
Novamarine is a Sardinian RIB and luxury tender builder, operational from Olbia on Italy's northeastern coast. The current company in its present corporate form dates to 2008, growing out of the SNO shipyard group led by brothers Andrea and Francesco Pirro; the broader brand lineage traces back to production in Olbia from the early 1980s. The yard builds at the SNO site in Olbia, with direct sea access, and targets the superyacht support, professional, and military markets across a range of four active lines: the flagship Black Shiver (BS) series, the HD line, the RH line, and a smaller Tender series - covering hulls from roughly 4.0m out to 24.0m.
In the superyacht context, the build we ask Novamarine for is a Black Shiver: a high-capacity RIB whose foam-filled, closed-cell tubes are engineered to be puncture-resistant and non-deflating, giving meaningful safety and stability margins over a conventional air-tube collar. Hull construction runs fiberglass with vinylester resin and Kevlar reinforcement. The BS 100 (9.98m) carries up to twenty guests at up to 47 knots; the BS 120 (12.0m) is the most requested hull for professional and military programmes; the BS 160 (17.0m) steps up to a full cabin format with multi-engine outboard or sterndrive options. The BS 220 sits at the top of the range as a self-sufficient passage-capable tender. Forty-three percent of Novamarine sales go to foreign customers, and the vessels are in service with coast guard and rescue agencies alongside private superyacht programmes - a build quality signal captains and project managers read clearly.

The Complete Guide to Buying a Superyacht Tender
Most tender purchases go wrong in the brief, not the build. This guide walks the buying process end to end, brief first, garage envelope second, propulsion third, yard shortlist fourth, contract fifth, the way we run it for owners.
ReadTender Garage Sizing: Matching Tender to Mothership
The tender garage is the most expensive box on the yacht to get wrong, once built, stretching it means cutting structure. This guide works backwards from the tender envelope through the seven dimensions that actually decide which boat fits.
ReadLead Times and Delivery: Planning Your Tender Build
Tender lead times are the single most under-planned variable in superyacht projects. This guide sets out the six phases of delivery, the realistic 2026 timing, 14 to 30 months for a custom build, 6 to 14 weeks for stock, and how to plan it.
ReadTender Insurance, Survey and Sea Trials
A tender purchase that closes without a clean survey, a bound insurance policy and a documented sea trial has three failure modes baked in. This guide walks the acquisition sequence we use, what good looks like at each step, and the recurring traps.
